The Complete Traditional YMAA Yang Style Curriculum
We follow the full YMAA curriculum — one of the most comprehensive and authentic traditional systems available. You will progressively master:
- Classical 108-Form Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan (古典楊氏太極拳一百零八式 Gǔdiǎn Yángshì Tàijíquán yībǎi líng bā shì)The complete long form, taught section by section with precise posture, breathing, martial applications, and fa jin (發勁 Fājìn — emitting power).
- Taiji Qigong (太極氣功 Tàijí Qìgōng)Stationary and moving sets to awaken and cultivate Qi (氣 Qì — vital energy).
- Silk Reeling (纏絲 Chán sī)Essential coiling exercises (Yang and Yin symbols) that build smooth, spiraling power and serve as the foundation for all advanced training.
- Pushing Hands (推手 Tuī shǒu)Progressive partner work (single and double, stationary and moving) to develop listening energy (聽勁 Tīng jìn), sticking (粘 Zhān), adhering, yielding, and superior close-range sensitivity.
- Tai Chi Ball Qigong (太極球 Tàijí Qiú)Dynamic circling and rotating exercises for whole-body coordination and internal power.
- Tai Chi Sword (太極劍 Tàijí Jiàn)The classical form plus applications for precision and extension of Qi (氣 Qì).
